This is what happens when you do not pay attention when loading and shooting subsonic loads. If you don't see it hit take the time to run a cleaning rod down the bore to make sure you didn't stick a bullet in the bore. You can push out one bullet with a cleaning rod. Two bullets you can usually get out with some work. Three or more just replace the barrel. It does make for a neat display.

It is actually one of my 338 THUMPERS but I thought it would be a good reminder for everyone. I don't know what load he was using in it when this happened.

I am going to put it in a shadow box and display it prominently in the shop so customers will hopefully take it as a warning to pay attention so they will not ruin a perfectly good barrel.

Was the barrel bulged? I can't help but wonder if the projectiles could have been drilled and tapped and removed with a piece of all-thread.

It does not look like the barrel was bulged but you dont know until you get the bullets out. Trying to drill the bullets out without touching the inside of the bore is extreamly hard and slow (meaning expensive), and you don't know if the barrel is bulged or not until its done. If it is 2 or 3 bullets I will try it but not 7. It is cheeper and faster to machine a new barrel.
