Does that mean you do? If so, I'd be interested as well.

Nevermind. You said barrels, not brass. I am a dumbass.

I got mine from Shilen. 18", varmint profile, threaded, it came out to about $315. They call it 30/221 on their list of chamberings.

Are they 1:8?

Yes. I ordered it through Northland Shooter's Supply. He is on the Savage Shooter's forum. Good guy to deal with. Link:

Advanced Armament Corp. has Model-700 16 inch 300 AAC BLACKOUT 1:8 nitrided barrels in stock now. For these you headspace them by using a standard Remington recoil lug and, if needed, grind the lug a few thou.

You and I ordered almost the exact same thing, only I spec-ed mine @17" with a 1:8 twist

after researching here& elsewhere I found that shooting subs you don't gain any more velocity beyond 16", I also wanted to thread it for a someday suppressor (I wish the SAF would challenge the nfa34) I also wanted a little room to play if I had to cut off the threads, or rethread

Only SSK makes Whisper(R) barrels (and Thompson, but they are not bolt guns).

Only SSK makes Whisper(R) barrels.

AAC has 300 AAC BLACKOUT barrels in stock for Rem 700.

Pac-Nor's web site says they chamber in 300 Whisper:
http://www.pac-nor.com/wildcat/

And so does Thompson Center:
http://www.tcarms.com/search/index.php?qx=300+whisper+&x=0&y=0

I don't know what agreement either has with SSK for the use of the name.
Having an agreement to use the name doesn't necessarily mean any of those three the chambers have the same dimensions or the same throat.
Since SSK hasn't made the 300 Whisper dimensions official and public what is "correct"?

Who cares whether a chamber is called a 300 Whisper, 300 Fireball, 300-221 or even a 300BLK other than for marketing purposes? If the end user who brings the chamber, cartridge, and handloads together can't get complete "official" chamber and cartridge drawings and specifications, they're only guessing whether those four names (or other similar wildcats) all be functionally identical, be "close enough" be useful, be different enough they may not function well, or so different as to be dangerous. That includes throats too, not just the chambers.
And a 300-221 (generic) which is ideal in a AR-15 may be quite different from a cartridge which is ideal in a short action bolt rifle and with a wide range of barrel lengths, even if they're all supposed to be "subsonic".

What is correct is what SSK does, as it is their cartridge.

Their chamber selection says 300 Whisper, but the last couple I received came in marked "300-221"....no biggie, my SSK 300 Whisper guns and SSK 300 Whisper Hornady dies all seem to get along with the pac-nor stuff....the chambers in the SSK guns are a little tighter at the base and better cut, the pac-nor had a few rings in the cartridge body area that are evident after fireforming the brass (can see a opposite relief in the brass) I've been told this was from cutting the chamber with the reamer fouled/loaded with debris.

mine are close, but not the same.

I have two SSK guns
two model 1 uppers
two pacnor 300-221 barrels
one olympic 300 fireball upper

two require different shoulder length brass and die settings to headspace correctly

the SSK guns have tighter base dimension, more noticable running super sonic loads. Brass that fails around the base in the other guns live fine in the SSK guns.
