there's some interesting 'how to build a hobby lathe (http://www.vintageprojects.com/lathe-milling-plans.html) ' plans at the Vintage Projects Collection. That and workshop plans, wood plans - guitars, archery, boats even.. Plenty of ways to burn up the summer. Have fun with them.
