new stock choices

I wouold like to get myself a shorter AR but stock. I have the standard full stock now. I want something just a little bit shorter and something that is comfortable and not overpriced. I've looked at the adjustable carbine stocks but they are not comfortable at all. When completely closed (shortest position) they are to short for me. Looking for something in between.

If you have an A2 stock and like that style, you can buy a shorter version of the stock you have which is an A1.

What optic or sights are you using on the rifle?

Do you shoot nose to charging handle?

What kind of price range are you looking to stay around?

What did you find uncomfortable about the carbine stocks you tried and what kind were they?

For an adjustable stock look at the Magpul CTR which has a lock up mechanism that makes it feel pretty sturdy.

For a fixed stock look at the Ace ARFX or similar model but they have foam so I am not sure if that bugs you.

If you go with a scope you may want something with a riser but then you will be over the $100 and it can interfere with the CH on certain models if not extended.

CAA also makes an inexpensive adapter that mounts to a standard carbine stock and allows you to get a better cheek weld.

I like the ACE ARFX stock rather well, but it will be the last thing I buy for my AR. The A2 stock will work for now.

As for the scope, I'm thinking about going with a Pride Fouler 3x9 22lr scope. It has horizontal lines for different yardages. Since the speed of a subsonic 300 whisper is close to that of hv 22lr, I think the Pride Fouler would be my best bet. http://www.rapidreticle.com/22lr3-9x32.htm I do need a riser but don't know what to buy. Something cheap but well made.
