I was resizing some 300w brass and could not find a min/max lenght. I have been using some 221fb data which shows 1.4 length with a trim lenght of 1.395. I need to stop being a tight wad and buy an up to date relaoding manual. So for free right now what is the min/max/trim to lenght for a 300w.
Thanks.

Your figure is right.
If you make 300W out of 221FB case, 1.4" is all you get.
From 223 brass it can be way out there.
Trim to your figure, and you are all set.
Another thing is, what is your chamber length?

Look at attach files, and find out what is my max length?

ok here's a kicker for ya. I ordered 3 boxes of ammo from Corbon. They are supposed to have license with SSK. There brass after being fired is 1.350". I'm not sure what there case length is before, but I will measure one later. I thought the working dimensions where between 1.400 and 1.390.?

Wrong:
The 300whisper trim to length is 1.355 and 1.365 max. Reference Sierra reloading manual. It's a common error to trim to 1.4 since that is the 221 fireball COL, but that's not what SSK set up the whisper to. I too found the 1.4 information on line, then couldn't figure out why some of my rounds would not chamber. After some more digging around I came across the 1.355 figure. SSK verified that length too.
Hope this helps,
Gos.

Guess what my actual chamber O.A.L. is???

IT IS 1.433" !!!

Deduct 0.01", & I can trim my cases appr. 1.42".

But again, that is my gun.

You have to measure these things boys.

And by the way, do you know what the blueprint for M1S barrels is???

IT IS 1.472".
(And remember there is a 45 degree angle where the chamber meets the "bore".)

That's why they call it a "Wildcat".
It's a non standardized round until someone gets it logged in with SAAMI and the commercial supplier ranks.
