Been waiting on my M1S kit since before Al Gore invented the internet. Ok, not that long but going on 9 months I think.

Does anyone on this board do .300 barrels? I could just turn one of my other AR's that I don't use into a .300.

Looking for a 16" barrel orginally but since I may use one of my other AR's I may just turn my SBR into a whisper. And in that case I may just want a 12.5"-14" barrel.

Anyone here recommend a good barrel maker? (with an idea of how much the barrel will cost)

Second vote for tp555

He built my .300 whisper barrel, adjustable gas block. Way faster turn around than m1s, great work and pricing.

tp555 is the right guy! His machine work measures to be dead nuts on the money and has good finish. Delivery times are very good. He does threads on bbl if requested too.

Have him make you a cartridge gauge ... glad I thought to ask as it has been one of the most useful things I've ever bought.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm emailing tp555 right now.

The people at M1S have been very nice when I called but I think I may go with this guy here if everything works out. It will be nice to have the person I got the barrel from right here on the forum board.

And thanks for the tip on the case gauge!

I ordered one from M1S a little over a year ago. At the time they had them in stock and the turn around was very quick. Knowing more about the round now though I would probably order from TP55 or another more custom maker to specify port location, get a chamber gauge, etc.

Gunner's Sport Shop in Brookings/Harbor Oregon, builds 300 barrels using Pac-Nor's Stainless 1-6.5" twist barrels for AR's. They also have done CZ's and Stevens 200's. I have one in 10.5" w/ a pistol length gas tube and it is phenomenal w/ subsonic 220's and 240's.:cool::cool:

I made 2 barrels with 6.5 twist pac nor blanks.Customer supplied the blank. If you really want to be ahead of the pack get a polygon rifled blank with an eight twist.Haven't ever seen one in that twist.

Been looking in to expanding my little operation. Wanting to know if there's interest or need. I do some custom barrel work for a local gunshop / gunsmith here in Bryan TX. So far I come up with many different profiles and chambered everything from plan-ol' .223 to some in 338-spectre. Profiles are done on my Mori-sieki cnc lathe. most of the threading I do by hand because I also like a " dead nut" or #3 thread fitting. Could post pics of recent work. I also have the abity / equipment to "phos- coat" anything of reasonable size.

Just trying to decide if I should invest more $ to grow my little "side business"
