I just saw on ebay an interesting auction

I believe this bayonet is extremely rare!

I would like to get your opinion. Is the scabbard on this one G.I. or is it commercial?

To : GregV :

They were mostly just for testing. Lancay had made a very few with this attaching.

The letter from Homer B. references the Lancay USMC 2002 trials bayonets as the first examples to incorporate the Molle suspension system. If you access Frank Trazka's US Military Knife website, there was an excellent article submitted by Jim Maddox on these bayonets, with photos included.
