I'm working on this project and it's time to figure out stock, mag options. This is a new Stevens with mag installed in the stock.
I'd like to use the same stock.
Will Stevens .223 mag work for 300 whisper load?
Will the .223 mag fit in the place where .308 mag was in the stock?
Will it feed 300Whisper ammo OK?
Or there are better options?

You're gonna need a .223 Rem bolt at a minimum. The .308 bolt face is too large for the .300 Whisper. Don't know much about the Stevens rifles as far as swapping mag boxes, etc.
IMHO, it would be better to start with a rifle/action in .223 Remington or .221 Fireball. I'm getting ready to have my second Whisper bolt gun built and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna use a Howa 1500 action in .223 for this one. Had one built on a CZ527 (again, in .223) before, but it lacked scope-mounting options (a 20 moa base sure comes in handy with the Whisper at extended ranges). Many here have built on Rem 700 actions, but feeding/ejection can be spotty with that action. You're better to start with one of the mauser-type actions (ruger77, win 70, CZ527) or the Howa with it's AR15-style extactor.

You will need to switch your bolt head to a 223 rem bolt head. Its very easy to do. The barrel is easy to switch out. I just built a 300 whisper from a savage short action (same as the stevens only it has the accu-trigger). If you need more information on how to switch over the rifle I suggest you go over to savageshooter.com and check out their forums. Stevens are an economy line savage but are pretty much the same. These guys can help you do just about everything from where to get parts to what parts work the best. Talk to the Sinarms guy vender about getting a barrel made to your specs. Tell him that Hitman sent you, he's a good guy that does great work. I got all the info for my build from these guys and got all the data about the cartridge from this site.

Hitman,
Devin is cutting a barrel for me this week from Brux blank.
Bolt face and recoil lug on order from SSS. Action has been bedded with Devcon mud putty. Have not decided what to use to refinish stock and rifle - GunKote or Ceracoate. Called Savage today, they'll sell me box mag for .233

Devin is a great guy so you will be happy with the barrel. If something does happen do be off he will fix it without question. You might try SSS for the box mag. They might be cheaper and faster than going through savage.

I spend some time shooting this weekend supersonic and subsonic.
Supersonic shoots very good,
But looks like subsonic loaded with H110 is sensitive to powder position inside the case and temperature.
Do people drill primer hole bigger in this cartridge to get more uniform ignition?
And what powder you may recommend that has the same burn rate as the H110 but bigger volume?
