Just got off the phone with Olympic Arms sales. They no longer make the 300 Fireball upper (for the past year). Apparently not enough selling. Also, ignore the Midway.com item for that make upper.
I'm on the hunt for a 300-221 / 300 Fireball upper or barrel. Any recommendations? I think finding one may be a challenge given the AR parts shortage.

Del-Ton Inc sells them. Hope your not in a hurry though. I have had mine on order since October of last year.
You can call Dtech who runs DtechSuperStore. He was using Olympic barrels until they ran out and I believe he turns his own now on Shilen blanks. If he has a 1:8 twist blank in stock he can probably fix you right up. If I could find decent pricing on chrome moly blanks I would have a few done but still no luck yet. Good luck.

They charge around $450 for a completed barrel.

there are several members here that sell them- one that I have used is SPOOK he is a great guy to deal with.
Wow. Didn't know Dtech was getting that much for one. A member here, tp555, has done several barrels for me as well although I have always supplied my own blank and tooling. He does very nice work.

One day I will be able to tell you who my main customer is that I make barrels for. Then you can brag.Think several copyrighted calibers for the AR.

That doesn't surprise me about Olympic, I watched Midway for over a year with no luck, even had one on order from them for about 6 months. I ended up going with Model 1 Sales. I ordered it last summer, so it was shipped right away. Other than not being able to load the bullets out as long, it has worked great.
Now if only I can find bullets.

I just put an Olympic .300 Whisper upper for auction here:

Upper receiver is lightly scuffed, but barrel is brand new and installed by Olympic.
