I was finally (!!) able to grab one of these Desert Storm Commemorative.
Here few pictures with comparison shots between the desert storm and the USMC commemorative, both commissioned by the American Historical Foundation.
Looking at the few pictures previous available of this bayonet, I had been wondering why the tan color of the handle was so different from the other tan M9s.
The reason is quite simple: they just paint a tan color over a standard handle (I'm not able to tell if the original color was green or black).

Hello!
The Desert Storm Commemorative shown above is an interesting example of how the final price of an M9 could be influenced by more collectors all interested on the same item.
Back in 2006, this very same bayonet was sold for $ 128.50
http://www.quarterbore.net/forums/showthread.php?t=751.
In 2009 the price went to $ 1500.
To be honest, I think that what I paid for this M9 was really insane and not justified at all..... but I wasn't just able to find one.

Carlo, I agree the price was alittle high, when Bill told me how much one of these went for my jaw hit the ground, but none the less Carlo, there beautiful M9's and I hope one day to find these and add them to my collection!

Hello!
Just wanted to let you know that one of these AHF Desert Storm Commemorative showed up on ebay.

I personally love commemorative bayonets, but I know that many collectors do not like them, as these M9s were never "issued".
