What powders and charges do you guys use for this load?

Brass and dies on order, have reloaded other stuff haven't bought primmers or powder yet for this one.

Ok I don't have my stuff yet still doing research, barrel and can on order. M1S 16" with carbine gas port, Gemtech HVT can.

For sights I was planning on an Eotech clone in 553 with a PEQ, so I can hunt day or night with my head mounted monocular NV.

I plan on using this mainly as a Hog gun with a can and shot only one subsonic load, it might also be a go to gun for other stuff later on.

I have ordered the Sierra reloading manual since my older Hornady manuals don't have 300 load data in them.

I picked the 240 SMK after reading the hunting threads with subsonic ammo and how this round tumbles with a hit or quarter away shot.

I will be going up to the Sierra factory in March and picking up bullets from them in bulk to save a few dollars.

I have read the H110 is very dirty but if that's the best I can handle that problem.

So guys what do you think about this setup and my choice for one load?

Edit: I am expecting to have to do each powder charge by hand because of the precission, but I don't yet what that charge will be?

I use 10.0 gr of H110 in my 16" SSK. It gives me 1050@55 degrees and 1070@75 degrees. It is still subsonic at 85 but I never checked the velocity. I have started using N110 9.0 gr. It duplicates the H110 load, but is much cleaner. These two loads will get you started, but don't be surprised if you have to play quite a bit. There are a lot of guys on here that have M1A stuff I'm sure they will chime in.

9.3 grains of H110 over a remington 7 1/2 BR primer gives me 1050 fps... both in SSK 300 Whisper 16" TC and a CZ 300/221 with a Mike Rock 5R barrel also 16".

I use only 240 grain SMK's
