I have been going through this on some other forums and I thought that Qaurterbore could help seeing as he is what seems to be a tinkerer and all knowlegable.
I will start with a qeustion I asked someone else on another board.-
If you want to make a pistol you have to use a CAR buffer tube or similar, the pistol buffer will not work with the solid 1 piece bolt of the 9mm. (the bolt doesn't have a hole in it for the rod to go through)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Could you use an M231 buffer Assembly? Just take off the wire stock, it uses a regular carbine buffer and spring yet is shorter (I am not sure how much shorter).

I am almost positive this is the same length as the Carbine buffer. Not 100% sure, but like 92.7% sure.
THIS IS MY QEUSTION-
This is probably a stupid idea. I have never seen the bolt from a 9mm AR but I was looking at the idea of a 9mm 0r .45 pistol but did not want the whole buffer tube , maybe the short one for a .223 pistol or, somthing along those lines but I stumbled accross these...they are of an OA93 off of Qaurterbores site.

Could the 9mm bolt or .45 bolt be cut down like this or, in between somewhere to make a pistol with a shorter buffer tube or, somthing along those lines?
Crazy?
(just an idea!)
