I’v been looking for a cartridge that I could rechamber in a Lee Enfield .303. I wanted to keep with a rimmed cartridge so as I didn’t hav 2 modify the both face in any way. I came across this round called a 375/454 JDJ Woodstalker. The reason why I’m looking at this cartridge is because I’m think’n of boreing out the original Enfield Barrel to .375, & I think the .454 Casull case is larger in diameter than the .303 case, (but i need to check this).
So my questions are……….
#1, Are the overall dimentions of the .454 Casuall case (for the 375/454) larger in diameter than the .303, from the base of the case to the shoulder if the case.
#2, Does any1 think or know if the 375/454 JDJ Casuall is suitable for sub compatability?
*The 375/454 Internal Case capacity looks similar to the .375 Wisper’s internal case capacity. The 375 Wisper uses a 7mm Bench Rest Remington case necked up to 375. They look very similar! I won’t be able to view a .454 Casull case for a few weeks so I was wondering if any 1 knows the Internal case dimentions & if the .375/454 was to be loaded for under 1050fps, would you use the same amount of powder as the 375 Wisper?
I just want to make sure that I get the powder amount within a safe range b4 I load anything up!
“I’m think’n a 1 in 10 twist would do the job”.

Hello,
Did you take a look at the 44 magnum?
It fits in the bolt head.
I dont think that it will cost you much more to rebarel in that caliber than reboring an old enfield barrel.
Make sure your get a barrel in 44 mag (.429) with a 1 in 16 or better 1 in 14" twist.
you can used either desert eagle pistol mags or modified M1 carbine mags.

And hornady 300gr xtp bullet should do a marvel in such rig.

take a look at the following article, middle of the page:

Good luck.
