I have a Keltec SU16-C .223 with a Tach16 Suppressor. Played with the sub .223's and do not like the accuracy. Is it possible to convert this into a 300 whisper? And if so what would it cost? I am very serious about a conversion I just need some answers that I do not have. Would it me more practical to build one from something else? This Keltec means nothing to me so if I can convert would be great. Any info on this would be great guys. Also non recycling doent bother me.http://http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/bf8314e266.jpg (http://www.freeimagehosting.net/)
Thanks,

never heard of it being done but do not know why you can not try. You just have to have it rebarreled and chambered for 300/221 (whisper) I am guessing you reload- as it is not practical to buy factory. Also, your 223 can will of course need to be used on a different gun and a 30cal can purchased-unless you already have one. If you have the work done make sure to post results- good luck

by the way- how does the keltec shoot compared to an AR?

If I had to do it all over again, I would have spent the extra $$ and got an AR. The price is right for an inexpensive sub but the quality does not compare to that of Rockriver or Bushmaster. As soon as I build my play money back up, an AR is in the works. As far as accuracy, they are closely compared but just the feel of the gun in you hands compared to the AR will make you feel like you are holding a plastic BB gun. It just does not feel like quality if you know what I mean.

I know its been awhile since my last post and havent been a regular user, but I want to try and convert the Keltec .223 to the Whisper 300. if it can be done. And if It can be done, who would be the person to do it? I think it is out of my league. I know my Fed paper work says that my can is a .223 but why couldn't it be honed out to be used with the 300? I am ready to roll with this project even though I just bought a .223 reloader to load my own subsonics.

How about go in a different direction.... Try moving the Keltec to someone else and starting over with an AR. One lower, one complete .223 upper and one stripped .300 upper. Bolt, carrier, ect will swap out between the two and lower your investment.
It may be physically possible to ream out your supressor, but I am doubting the legality of the action. You might get in contact with the manufacturer and pursue your question, but I would honestly think a better course of action would be another can.

Some good advise. Get you money out of the Keltec and reinvest in AR before Obama nation happens.
You would have to have SOT mfg change your can and repaper as 308 but the TAC-16 maker would be the first person I would talk too about whether it would stand up to being altered. If you only used subsonic's I'm confident but then you could just buy a 9mm suppressor and use that on you 300 upper and TAC-16 on your 223 upper.
