I took the plunge and bought the parts to allow me to use my Gemtech 308 suppressor on my Yugo AK.
Now, I am looking for 7.62x39 subsonic load data.
I would love to use it semi-auto, but expect it will be a straight pull when used with subsonic ammo.
It has been awhile but I do know that I never got mine to cycle. Could have opened the gas port up but the whole purpose of the rifle was to shoot cheap supersonic ammo so I left it alone. Works fine as a pull bolt and quiet but watch the first few test loads. I stuck more bullets in that one barrel working up subs than I have stuck total in all other guns. Another problem is for it to get close to cycling you need to use the heaviest bullets available. The twist of the barrel is not quick enough to stabilize real heavy bullets at subsonic velocities and you would be risking a baffle strike. I would use light bullets with a light charge and it will be quiet and safe for the can. A fast bulky pistol powder that fills up a good portion of the case should be good.

Hi RWBlue
Try with 180 grains Sierra bullets in .311 diameter and 11.5grains 5744-powder. This combination is subsonic and cycle properly in my bulgarian AKM-47.
Best regards from Switzerland.
