My RLL will be shipping to my FFL soon. I'm planning on building a host from

- A bushmaster lower

- A dpms .223 bolt carrier

- A M60 Joe Select-fire kit

- KNS protector/lightning link reinforcer. ARE THESE THE SAME ITEM?

[BMy one concern is this: The whole process of timing the link confuses me. Is this something that will have to be done OFTEN? If the link/rifle needs constant opening/readjusting, then it's worthless to me. After the link and select-fire kit are installed and the timing is RIGHT, will it ever need re-adjusting often or will it just function like a regular selective-fire rifle? [/B]

I have a RLL that I’ve run about 3000 round with the same paddle and no damage. I believe that if you take the time to set it up properly it will last longer and be more reliable. I like to set my timing with the thinnest paddle that will still perform 100% of the time.

My dpms is completely reliable no problems with the 16” or 11.5” barrels. I would recommend sending M60 joe your lower and upper and carrier to set up for the RLL and KNS re-enforcer. That way when you get your link everything will be ready to run. Don’t forget possible bolt bounce if running a collapsible c.a.r. stock; I run an h2 buffer my stock DPMS buffer would not run.

Check this out, it’s how I perform the timing and it works: very informative.
