Aloha All!

First post and glad to be apart of the forum.

A friend gave me this bayonet that he had stored in his safe for a long time. After doing some reseach---Thank's Porter's Report, I found that it was indeed an Eckhom bayonet that was made in 1970. When I first looked the bayonet over, I thought the squirel logo was a rat-----LOL.

Can anyone give me an idea of what the value of this bayonet is? It is brand new with everything intact. I would rate it 98%. A few handleing marks from being stored for so long. The handle and sheath is in perfect conditon. I read that Porter mentioned that alot of KCB70 bayonets that he has seen had cracked handles because the plastic was extemely brittle. The leather leg tie down attached to the bottom of the sheath is still coiled.

Mahalo fo da help!
Mark

Does your bayonet have the NWM logo under the Eickhorn trademark?

Mahalo for the quick reply. Yes it does have the nwm logo on the left side of the blade. The squirel logo as you mentioned is above the nwm logo.

As you mentioned in your article, the blade is the flat bowie style with serrated top edge.

The blade also has the wire cutter hole that fits to the sheath---- Solviet design. The color of the blade is flat black and the sheath is more on the shiny side.

I don't normally respond to the "what's it worth" question. Best bet is to keep an eye on the on-line auctions. That will give you a good idea of what the current market price is.

I have 2 bayonets that look like this one, one has the od green scabbard and green handle while the other has a black scabbard and black handle.. But neither one has and markings on them, do they normally not have any markings on them at all?

Hi Rex,

What you probably have are a couple of Eickhorn KCB77 bayonets. They are very similar to the KCB70 with differences in the grip composition and the scabbard configuration. Check out the following link, both models are featured:

Yes, Bill you are right they do look like the bayonets in the link you gave me. But they are unmarked completely.
