I managed to get 2 new LanCay's. One is the early second contract blade with the first contract finish and the second one is an early style blade with the second contract finish, both fastex connectors are dated 1995. Hopefully this picture will upload. The one on the left is the early contract second contract blade with the gray finish and the one on the right is the early blade with the black second contract finish.

Here is some more pictures of the First style blade with the second contract finish along side the first style first style contract blade. According to M9Bayonet.com the first style blade with the second contract finish is rare and only 200 were made this way due to a variance in the thickness of the tip in which the paper work was lost to get it approved and when it was found it was already into the second contract so the second contract finish was applied

Nice find Rex. Unfortunately the earlier LanCay bayonets still aren't fully appreciated by the collecting community.

Thanks, Bill. I still am looking for a few more, like the General Cultery and the shallow fuller one...Here are some more pictures. Both M9's are Early second Contract with no hyphen in the LanCay. The gray one according to m9Bayonet.com is one of the 1090 M9 Bayonets used to fill the remaining first contract order...

Just watch out with the GenCuts and the shallow fullers. I've seen a lot of pieces floating around that aren't 100% correct, regardless of where they came from. The GenCuts must have an unmarked pommel in an early style scabbard with an early dated Fastex. Cutter plate should be the style with the screw driver at the tip, not the side. There were a bunch of shallow fullers made up with the Lan-Cay marking. The originals should not have the hyphen and should be in an early style scabbard with the screw driver at the tip. Should also have an early dated Fastex (92-93).
