Glad to find this site.
I am rebuilding a Mark V Wby. (formerly a .257 mag.) into a .25/7mm mag. (.257 Cheapskate) in order to get around the high cost of Wby. brass and fireforming. I would appreciate any info members might have in regard to case formation, dies, problems to look out for, and general comments. Kreigar barrel (28") enroute and chamber reamer likewise. The Wby was sweet, but barrel shot out. A lawyer gave me the gun, guess they are good for something!

Maybe weatherby is making rifles Lawyer proof. He gave it to you because he could not make money out of it:smile:

No, worse. His son left the gun for a couple of months in the trunk of a car in a plastic case - wet. The bore was rusted out beyond belief. It took a year to kill the mold in the summerwood grains in the stock, but it and the action are now fine. Just the barrel was ruined.

I have a 257 Arnold magnum that shoots lights out using n160 and 100 gr sierra match bullets. I get better results from 264 brass than 7mm, no split necks and no annealing.
