Hi to all,
I have a question about the bianchi hanger found on the M9.
One in my collection is different. The plate has the six holes as normal but the ridge with the Bianchi markings is raised away from the webbing, not toward it like all the others.
The rivets are steel, although a little loose, and shows some finish loss from a belt.It has the strap for the handle in place since it is from a Buck, not Lan-Cay or Ontario.
Has this metal plate been stamped wrong? Are there others like this out there?Or is this a case of putting a older/wrong belt piece on by mistake?

Any and all help is much appreciated, thankyou.

Jay

can you post a picture of the top clip you are talking about?

Here's what Jay is talking about. Both scabbards are Phrobis. The raised clip is from a 2nd gen, the depressed clip is from a fourth gen (not that it matters). The stampings on both are identical except much lighter stamp on the raised clip.
The 1991 Marine Buck M9 that I have has the depressed clip.

Thanks for posting the photo. I have checked many of my M9's (even early models) and I can't find one with the "raised" top clip. The mystery continues......
