Shot this little girl last night.

She is not big by any stretch but she will be tender.

Bullet was water dropped wheel weight and lubed with some old Alox lube I have.
10.1g AA1680. Sub sonic but not sure of speed chrony stopped working.
Barrel 9.5 inch 1 in 8.5 twist from tactical ammunition. Mamba 1-4 scope, 80# lower.

High shoulder shot, broke rib, went thru both lungs, clipped the spine and exited the other side.

All that and she still made it 25 yds before piling up.

good job! at what distance did you bag her? I have that same scope but had to put it on an extended riser and flipped the mount so i can also mount a 2-7x32 scout scope on it when i am not using the mamba. how do you like yours? i guess pretty well since you got some meat for the freezer.

It would appear this heavy, slow, long-for-diameter bullet has operated just as intended: it tumbled. Nice oblong holes through the lungs transmitting much shock/trauma.

Nice job, not only with the shot but the photos and analysis of the wound. 99.9% of people don't get it right. You did brilliantly!

thanks guys. I seriously doubt I will ever use another caliber for hunting whitetail deer.

less than 50 yds. Also took this one with the same loadout back in december. I got my Chrono back after I took this buck and my bullet was only going 850fps. I no longer use this load, but if nothing else I proved even more that you do not need a 300 super duper magnum going mach 4 lighting your hair on fire dislocating your shoulder turning at least 1/4 of the deer into a fine red mist being heard 2 counties over to shoot a deer at 50yds.

I hit a doe at 65 yards in the neck with a 220 gr SMK moving at 1025 fps from a suppressed 16" 300 BLK last year. Dropped at the shot.

Projectile upset on impact and came out sideways as predicted.
