Don't know about loads. There is one that will work.I do know about making m-1
carbine barrels. I have made over 300 m-1 carbine barrels in 5 different calibers
over the last 15 years or so. Made one for JDJones hisself. He said one load would work. I didn't bug him about it. I just made the barrel for him.regards.

I have never tried it but the Lee manual list 5.7 to 6.5 gr of HS6 with a 130 gr bullet as a subsonic load with velocity of 992 to 1113 fps.

Pug....I think you might be on to something...tell me more.
30 carbine...cheap mags
Oly makes uppers

Is their 30 Carbine a blow back like the other pistol calibers or is it a gas system. If it's a blow back...it should be easy to adjust for cycling with buffer weight...or an adjustable weighted buffer.

Colorado I actually wondered about the Oly system also. I think the M1 has a gas piston and rotating bolt and I imagine their 30 carbine is the same minus piston. I am deep in their 300 fireball now (my warranty is probably void now) and I really like the cartridge. Someone just posted about the Oly 30 carbine so maybe I will ask :).

I just looked throught the '07 Oly catalog.....no 30 carbine....I'll post over at OA2 and ask.

I saw your post and a response...darn gas systems

At least if you do a fireball you won't need 30 carbine mags and a dedicated lower.
Answers that don't it.

I think if you use 30 carbine GI barrels load for magazine length you aren't be to use very heavy bullets (maybe 150 grn flatpoint? or 168 loaded backwards?

Maybe with caliber adaptor to shoot 30 carbine in 7.62?
