Want to purchase an Ar15 whisper. I've seen uppers at model 1 sales 16 car w/ 1 in 8. They will have them in next week. Any body have one? I will be using an AAC 762SD can. Where do you suggest I get one if not model 1 sales. Theres is about $375. Does it need an adjustable gas block?
Also were should I get 300 dies? Also I've heard people talk about 240gr Sierra hpbt, is this a 308 bulley or something else.

Thank you for your time,

I have an Olympic Whisper barrel I run it with my AAC Cyclone can, works great. Just need some else to reload the ammo. I have also a TC and a bolt gun in whisper which I prefer to shoot ovet the AR.

The 240 SMK is a Sierra bullet product and is a must have for the Whisper. I shoot deer with it and it is deadly.

I am also ready to purchase my .300W upper/parts and was about to post this same type of question. I'll be building a 9-10" barrel to use with my SWR Omega 30 and a mid or full length free float hand guard.
When I spoke with Model 1, they said thay would cut to length and thread for the Omega pattern, but I'm not sold on them for that kind of work. I have other Model 1 uppers and am very pleased, but I've never seen (or heard of) thier custom work before.
I am in need of other suggestions as well.

Just got my Model 1 Sales 300 Fireball in last week. Overall, looks fine to me. Took it apart, nothing is apparently glaringly wrong. Ordered Redding dies from Graf & sons ($65), brass from Keith Davis ($160-1k primed). Have on hand about 400 bullets ranging from 150's to 200's, plan to use IMR 4227 to begin with (mainly because I have it), may try H110 later for the heavy and slow rounds.

I've used H 2400 for lighter bullets, having great results with H 110 with 240 grainers.

I bought my last 300 whisper from them. They are a little cheaper then model 1 but not by much. They don't have them listed on their site but they can get them or they might have them in stock. Tell them Martin sent you.
